THE IITian YOGESH KUMAR

Yogesh Kumar was from the Hanmangadh district of Rajasthan. He was pursuing M.Sc. in Mathematics from IIT Warangal Telangana. He had completed 3rd semester. He had studied in Hindi medium till 10th standard at Hanmangadh district. He did not have the environment and exposure to speak in English. Even though Yogesh was bright and intelligent in his subjects, he was not fluent and confident in the English language.
His elder brother used to live at Kamothe, in Navi Mumbai. His brother was working for the UCO Bank Panvel branch. His brother enquired in almost all Spoken English and Personality Development institutes in Navi Mumbai for details. He came and enquired at Maxam Mind’s Kharghar branch too. He had a fair knowledge of all institutes in Navi Mumbai. After a lot of analysis, he invited his brother Yogesh Kumar to complete the course on English Speaking and personality development.
Yogesh had campus interviews within a couple of months. Many corporates would visit for campus selection. His family and Yogesh Kumar worried about campus interviews. They all knew it wouldn’t be easy for Yogesh. This was a big worry for all of them. He was not able to speak in English. He could not perform well in group discussions and personal interviews. He had fear, doubts, and confusion about the English language and interview performance.
One day Yogesh and his brother came to our Maxam Mind Kharghar center for enrollment. Yogesh took admission and began to attend the sessions. Yogesh was a very sincere and hardworking student. He was punctual to sessions and completed all his assignments on time. I gave him some exercises for practice. He would practice them well. Eventually, he completed his all sessions. He had developed his communication skills. He became a confident and fluent speaker in English speaking.
I conducted sessions on interview skills as well. I trained on resume writing, expectations from corporates or employers from the candidates, the mindset of employers, group discussions, personal interviews, interview preparations, dressing and grooming for interviews, interview questions & how to answer them effectively, and interview mock sessions. I personally made him practice everything thoroughly. He became well versed in the English language and interview skills.
He completed the entire course within 2months. He went back to his IIT Warangal campus.
After 6 months I got a call from Yogesh Kumar. Yogesh asked me, “Good morning Sir?” “How are you?” I said, “Good morning. I am good, thank you.” “Do you remember me, Sir? Asked Yogesh.
I replied, “Of course, I remember you. You are Yogesh Kumar from IIT Warangal and Hanmangadh Rajasthan. I still have your name and number on my cellphone. I usually don’t forget my students and their name.”
Yogesh said, “Sir, I have good news for you. I could crack the campus interview. I got a nice job in a leading company. I shared this news with my father, brother, and mother. And I am sharing with you now. My father told me to share this news with you. You are also part of my success. You helped to achieve this.”
“Congratulations Yogesh. That’s great news for you, your family, and me as well. We are all proud of you Yogesh. You worked very hard for this. You deserved this.” I said. I was so happy about Yogesh’s achievement. I felt for a moment like it was my achievement.
Yogesh said, “Sir, because of your guidance and coaching I was able to make it happen. Thank you, Sir.” He was humble when he was saying this.
I said, “You are the gem Yogesh. I just did my job. You worked for it and earned it. All the best for your future.” Yogesh said, “Thank you Sir.” we ended the conversation.
